It's tourism. One side hates even the idea of it happening in China. The other loves the money it makes from tourism[especially the ticket sellers].
The side who hates tourism wins, the government is overthrown and we get thrown out of China.
If they want to throw you out, tell them about the man with the shopping bag who stopped a whole line of tanks once before. Beware! They may have a secret weapon to use against shopping bags now. In any case demand enough supplies to get you home.
